Israel demolished 538 Palestinian buildings in 2018

The Israeli occupation forces in 2018 demolished 538 Palestinian homes and facilities in the West Bank leaving 1,300 Palestinians homeless, according to recent statistics.

Abdullah al-Hurani Center for Studies and Documentation released a report on Friday saying that 157 Palestinian homes and 381 facilities were demolished or seized in the West Bank, an increase by 24% compared to 2017.

Over 1,300 Palestinians were left homeless, including 225 children, the report said, noting that 45% of the demolished facilities were in Al-Quds (Jerusalem) alone.

The Israeli occupation forces in 2018 issued stop-construction or demolition orders against 460 Palestinian buildings, 27% of which were in Al-Quds (Jerusalem).

In 2018, the Israeli forces demolished 5 schools and kindergartens and notified the demolition of 8 others.

Based on the report, Israel's Civil Administration had issued a military order to remove all Palestinian buildings with unfinished construction work and those that have been inhabited for only 30 days or less in Area C.
