Palestinians will never allow the reclosure of Al-Rahma Gate, one of the gates of Al-Aqsa Mosque, Sheikh Najeh Bkerat, deputy head of the Al-Quds (Jerusalem) Waqf Council told Arabi21 yesterday.

At the same time, Bkerat stressed that the Palestinians would never allow partitioning Al-Aqsa Mosque.

This came after Israeli radio station Reshet Kan stated that the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had ordered Al-Rahma Gate be closed.

Bkerat stressed that Netanyahu’s order regarding “will not be implemented and it is nonbinding for us.”

“We do not recognise any Israeli decision relating to Al-Aqsa Mosque,” Bkerat said.

Palestinians opened doors leading to Al-Rahma Gate on Friday and held prayers in the area for the first time since 2003.
