Palestinian Minister of Awqaf and Religious Affairs Yousef Ad’eis said that the Israeli court decision to close the Aqsa Mosque’s Bab al-Rahma prayer area is illegal and in collusion with the desire of the Israeli occupation police.

In a press release, Ad’eis affirmed that the Aqsa Mosque compound with all its premises, courtyards and walls is an Islamic mortmain site that belongs to the Muslim nation exclusively.

He added that the Israeli occupation authority and its courts have no jurisdiction over the Aqsa Mosque and thus have no right to make decisions regarding the holy site.

The minister warned that such court decision would lead to a new wave of break-ins at the Mosque and more violations against Muslim worshipers.
