Dozens of Palestinian citizens
were injured on Monday in clashes with the Israeli occupation forces during a
large-scale home demolition campaign in Sur Baher town in Jerusalem.
Local sources said that dozens
suffered injuries as the Israeli forces attacked the Palestinian citizens who
were protesting the demolition with pepper gas, stun grenades, tear gas
canisters, and rubber-coated metal bullets.
In the early morning hours, the
Israeli forces stormed Wadi al-Hummus neighborhood in Sur Baher, evicted Palestinian
families from several residential buildings, and threw a cordon around the area
in preparation for the demolitions.
Dozens of Israeli troops,
accompanied by military bulldozers, were deployed in the area, while explosives
were planted in the houses targeted with demolition. At least 500 Palestinians
have been left homeless.
