Gaza, Palestine – 2024
In response to the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza, Al-Quds Foundation Malaysia has launched a project to provide reliable access to potable water for displaced families in Northern Gaza. The project aims to benefit approximately 8,000 people, offering a sustainable solution to the critical water shortage caused by the conflict.
This initiative utilizes solar energy to power water pumps, ensuring the continuous extraction and distribution of water to the affected population. The system includes water storage facilities and solar-powered pumps, enabling families to access clean water for drinking, cooking, and hygiene needs.
By reducing dependence on unsafe water sources, the project helps improve health and hygiene conditions while mitigating the risks of waterborne diseases among displaced communities. In addition to meeting immediate water needs, the initiative supports long-term resilience by providing a sustainable infrastructure.
The implementation of this project represents a significant step towards enhancing the living conditions of displaced families in Northern Gaza. It also reflects Al-Quds Foundation Malaysia’s commitment to supporting vulnerable populations during times of crisis by ensuring access to essential resources.
