Al-Quds Foundation Malaysia has organized the Al-Quds Open House event to celebrate Eid al-Fitr in an initiative that brought together the Malaysian and Palestinian traditions. Malaysian families and institutions usually organize open houses to welcome Eid al-Fitr where traditional Malaysian food and sweets are served. Friends and colleagues are invited to visit these houses throughout Shawwal, the tenth month of the Islamic calendar.
In Al-Quds Open House, Palestinian food, such as Hummus, Tabbouleh, Maqluba, and stuffed grape leaves, and sweets like Kanafeh and Ka’k were served to the guests.
Director of Al-Quds Foundation Malaysia Sharif Abu Shammala welcomed the guests who attended the event, including political notables and representatives of pro-Palestine organizations and different communities in Malaysia.
Abu Shammala said that the event reflects the strong relations between the Palestinian and Malaysian peoples, adding that it is also an opportunity for cultural exchange.
The guests expressed their joy with the initiative launched by Al-Quds Foundation Malaysia for the second year in a row and said that it offers a great chance to meet with friends and activists and strengthen social bonds.
