Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu yesterday promised that he would never evict illegal settlers from the occupied Palestinian territories as long as he is in office, local media reported.

Speaking at an inaugural ceremony for an interchange outside the illegal settlement of Adam, which is located in the centre of the occupied West Bank, Netanyahu said: “Our enemies want to uproot us from here, but… as long as I am the prime minister of Israel, not a single Jew will be uprooted from his home.”

He pledged to build more and more settlements and settlement units. “Not only will Jews not be uprooted from their homes, but we will build and add to them,” he said.

Netanyahu said that Israel would prove that the desire of anyone to end Israel’s occupation of Palestinian territories “will be met by an impenetrable wall. That is why we are here today.”
