Sheikh Abdul-Adhim Salhab, head of the Islamic Awqaf Council in Occupied Al-Quds (Jerusalem), has affirmed that the intensive and ongoing presence of Muslim worshipers at the Aqsa Mosque is very important to protect it against Israel’s violations.

“It is our natural right to visit the building of Bab al-Rahma, and we do not recognize any decision taken by the occupation about it, Sheikh Salhab said, commenting on the recent closure of al-Rahma Gate of the Aqsa Mosque.

The Palestinian official described the Aqsa Mosque as a “red line which the Muslim nation cannot cede any part of it.”

He also slammed Israel’s repeated assaults on the sanctity of the Aqsa Mosque, applauding the Palestinian citizens who defended the holy site and forced the Israeli occupation authority to remove the locks and chains from al-Rahma Gate.

He emphasized that the Muslims have the right to pray in any area of the Aqsa Mosque, pointing out that there are efforts to rehabilitate the building of Bab al-Rahma and use it as a prayer area and offices for the Islamic Awqaf Authority.
