Israeli Deputy Foreign Minister Tzipi Hotovely asked the newly sworn-in Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili to think about relocating his country’s embassy to occupied Al-Quds (Jerusalem), Israel Hayom reported.

Hotovely discussed the issue of relocating the Georgian embassy to Al-Quds (Jerusalem) during a meeting with Zurabishvili, Georgia’s Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze and Foreign Minister David Zalkaliani on Sunday.

An Israeli delegation, including Hotovely, attended Zurabishvili’s swearing-in ceremony. The minister highlighted the “deep and long friendship” between Israel and Georgia before asking the president to relocate his country’s embassy.

The Israeli official and Zurabishvili agreed to discuss the issue with the Georgian prime minister.
