A top UN official condemned Jewish settlers’ crimes in the occupied West Bank after a Palestinian man was killed and over 20 others were injured by Israeli gunfire in a village Saturday.

The shooting, reportedly by a settler, came after a horde of armed settlers stormed al-Mughayyir village in Ramallah and started to brutalize local residents.

“Israel must put an end to settler violence and bring those responsible to justice,” UN special coordinator for the Middle East peace process Nickolay Mladenov said on his Twitter page.

“My thoughts and prayers go out to the family of the Palestinian man killed and those injured. All must condemn violence, stand up to terror,” he wrote of the incident, which took place near the Palestinian village of al-Mughayer.

“Today’s violence,” he wrote, “is shocking and unacceptable.”

Mladenov's comments came after Hamdi Taleb Na’san, 38, a father of four, was killed in his village, which is located near an illegal settler outpost.
